Frequently Asked Questions
How does Lemondia make money, and who pays for the service?
Lemondia earns a commission paid by the venue, and only on a confirmed booking. For organizers the service is free today: you pay nothing for the request, the offer comparison or the booking. Venues pay nothing to register or to submit an offer.
What commission do venues pay, and is it included in the offer price?
The standard commission is 15% of the base offer, meaning accommodation, room and equipment hire, basic catering and parking. Lemondia adds nothing to the price in the offer: the venue sets the price and pays the commission from its share. Some venues have an individually agreed lower rate.
Can a venue offer a lower price directly than it does through Lemondia?
Lemondia does not require price parity from venues. Every venue knows, however, that it always competes for your request with at least three others, and prices its offer to win.
Do commissions affect the ranking or recommendation of venues?
No. Venue ranking is not affected by the commission rate or any payment, and a position cannot be bought. The recommended order is based on how well a venue matches your brief and how reliably it responds to requests. Sorting by distance or rating is neutral, with no adjustments. You decide which venues receive the request.
Can we choose which venues to contact ourselves, including venues that are not on Lemondia?
Yes, and that is what Lemondia is built on. You alone decide who receives your request. We are not limited to pre-contracted venues: if you want to contact a venue that is not on Lemondia yet, our team adds it and sends it the request.
Can offers be compared on a like-for-like basis, including total costs?
Yes, it is the core function of the platform. Offers that venues usually send in different formats and as email attachments are converted into one structure: room and equipment hire, accommodation, catering, parking and other items. You compare all offers side by side in the same breakdown, each with the price excluding VAT, the VAT and the total.
Does the platform keep a complete audit trail, and can it be exported?
Yes. For every request the platform keeps the venues contacted with the time sent, their responses including reasons for declining, the offers received and the final selection with its justification and the purchase order number. The record can be exported as a PDF report. Communication with venues is stored on the platform; it is not part of the PDF report yet, and we will add it on request.
Who invoices, and who is responsible for event cancellation or refunds?
The contract for a specific event is made solely between your company and the venue; Lemondia is not a party to it. The venue is responsible for delivering the services, for cancellation terms and for refunds, under the terms stated in its offer. Lemondia issues the deposit invoice in the name and on behalf of the venue; the venue issues the final invoice directly. By default the organizer pays the deposit into Lemondia's account, and Lemondia forwards it to the venue once it is credited. If your internal payment rules require it, the deposit can also be paid directly to the venue. In a dispute, we provide you with the complete documentation of the request and the order.
What would happen to confirmed bookings if Lemondia ceased operating?
Confirmed bookings do not depend on Lemondia's operation. The contract is made directly between your company and the venue, and both parties hold the order and all documents. The platform runs on Microsoft Azure in Western Europe with geographically replicated data backups.
