Pousada Convento Évora is a historic hotel in a former convent, suited to an offsite shaped by the city’s layered past. It stands between Évora’s Gothic Cathedral and Roman Temple, close to Praça do Giraldo, with original cloisters framing an inner courtyard and outdoor pool. The guest rooms were once monks’ cells, and almost every one differs in layout and decor. Meetings can take place in naturally lit rooms or in the restaurant wings, and the whole pousada can be booked exclusively for a group. Loios, the restaurant, occupies the former monks’ refectory and serves Alentejo cuisine; a granite staircase leads up to dining spaces along the cloister.
