Portuguese wine-country roots meet Danish ownership at Quinta do Pégo, set on the slopes above the Douro among vineyards and terraced fields. The valley view continues to the outdoor pool, a quiet place to pause between exploring the estate and tasting its wines. Tastings include an introduction to each wine as well as the history of the property and its position in the valley. Meals can be arranged in advance, and breakfast is served buffet-style overlooking the river. The Quinta do Pégo restaurant received a bronze medal in the Gastronomia com Vinho do Porto competition.
