About this venue
Convento de Sandelgas is a former convent near Coimbra, set among gardens, lakes and a cedar grove. Its historic character lends itself to a company stay centred on time together in a distinctive setting. The rectangular convent building has a church portal made from Ançã stone, while the grounds include a chapel and rooms for events. Built for the religious sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, the convent moved to Sandelgas after flooding at its earlier home in Montemor-o-Velho. The sisters left in 1848, and the property was later sold to the Moura family. Events have been held here since 1997.
