Quinta do Terreiro is a guesthouse in an eighteenth-century manor house, suited to a country stay with time to explore the cultural heritage of the Douro region. Its restoration left sections of the original stonework visible, and some window shutters still conceal their old hinges. Each room is named for a figure connected with the region and its literary, historical or archaeological life. Two independent event halls accommodate company meetings, conferences and seminars, while gardens and lawns give groups space to take part of a programme outdoors. Menus are created for each kind of event, drawing on traditional, innovative and fusion cooking; an outdoor deck and bar provide a place to gather between sessions.
