The Preintalerhütte is situated in the heart of the Schladminger-Tauern and serves as a popular day-trip destination. It is an ideal starting point for numerous mountain crossings and summits, as well as a stage for hikers along the Tauern High Trail. The hut is accessible from the Seeleiten parking lot near Gasthof Riesachfall in the Untertal, with a walk taking approximately two and a half hours. The route passes through scenic waterfalls, alpine paths, and mountain lakes, offering a variety of options for outdoor enthusiasts. Inside, the hut offers overnight accommodation with a total of 144 beds, including both rooms and mattresses. It is open during warmer months, and online reservations for overnight stays are available year-round through a shared reservation platform. The building is a traditional alpine chalet, providing a cozy and mountain-inspired atmosphere for visitors.
