Neues Schloss Herrenchiemsee stands on an island in the Chiemsee lake in Bavaria and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2025. The state rooms of the palace are open only by guided tour, which take place regularly. The King Ludwig II Museum in the New Castle and the museum in the Augustinian monastery are accessible without a guide. On the island, rental rooms are available for festivals, concerts, and conferences. Access to the island is by boat from the Chiemsee boat services, and carriages drawn by horses operate seasonally.
