The Kulturzentrum Karmeliterkirche is located centrally in the historic former Roman and Imperial city of Weißenburg. The building dates back to 1325, when Emperor Louis the Bavarian founded the Carmelite monastery, which has been in the city's possession since 1544. Its architecture was transformed in the Baroque style in 1729 by regional artists. Inside, visitors can find a notable Volto-Santo painting from around 1400 in the choir, and an organ from 1712. The space was redesigned into a cultural center between 1981-1983. The venue features a large hall suitable for events, exhibitions, concerts, and celebrations, as well as a conference room for smaller gatherings.
