About this venue
Palácio dos Arcos is a historic palace with poetry woven into its rooms and public spaces: verses by Fernando Pessoa, Florbela Espanca and other writers appear on the walls. Dating from the late fifteenth century, the building is said to be where King Manuel I watched Portuguese ships set sail for India; its balconies now look out towards the sea. Meeting spaces include a room in the palace’s former wine cellar. At Inevitável, Portuguese cooking is reworked and served with views of the Tagus, while a library, wine room and chapel with a Baroque altar offer further corners to explore. Mature trees shade the gardens around the outdoor pool. The railway station on the coastal line linking Lisbon and Cascais is a two-minute walk away.
