Guests come to Casa das Senhoras Rainhas to stay within Óbidos’s medieval walls, in a former town house whose authentic features were retained during renovation. The building has been recognised by Portugal’s architectural heritage institute, IPPAR, and its rooms are named for Portuguese queens connected with the region. Depending on the room, views take in the castle walls, historic streets or an inner courtyard; some rooms also have balconies. A small outdoor area beside the walls gives groups a place to gather, while Letraria Óbidos, on the hotel premises, serves Portuguese craft beer and light snacks. Breakfast is served as a buffet in a separate room, with hot dishes and diet products.
