The Hörnlihütte is a mountain chalet located at an elevation of 3,260 meters near Zermatt, Switzerland. It has served as a destination and starting point for mountain climbers and hikers for over 130 years. The building provides accommodations for up to 150 overnight guests and features a restaurant with seating for 130. After its renovation in 2015, it set a new standard for high-altitude hospitality and welcomes trekkers, hikers, and mountaineers from around the world. The hut is accessible via a marked trail from Schwarzsee in Zermatt, which takes approximately two hours to hike and offers stunning views of the Matterhorn and surrounding valley. The trail is equipped with safety rails, chains, metal grips, and steps, making it a well-maintained route for visitors. It operates seasonally, opening from late June to mid-September, with extended emergency access thereafter.
