For centuries, Glin Castle has been the FitzGerald family home, set on the banks of the River Shannon in County Limerick. The late eighteenth-century house replaced a medieval castle ruin in the village, and its Neo-classical interiors pair Corinthian columns and decorative plasterwork with reception rooms, a dining room, library and drawing room. Formal lawns give way to woodland, ancient oaks and winding gravel walks; a stream and walled kitchen garden are part of the grounds. Corporate gatherings and private events can be arranged with catering, while the garden supplies flowers, vegetables and fruit for the kitchen. Archery, yoga and clay pigeon shooting can also be arranged on site, and Shannon Airport is about a fifty-five-minute drive away.
